My name is John Mckay and I’m a secondary teacher with the Limestone District School Board in Kingston Ontario.
Growing up I struggled to excel in math. I would often sit and struggle with the homework assigned on a day to day basis and wished there was a place for me to go to give me Ontario specific support.
In 2019 my teaching career began to take off, and I decided to start recording all my lessons and house them on a YouTube channel John Mckay Math Help
I was fortunate enough to have come from a family that had the money to pay for tutors in university. As I progress through my career, I’ve seen how, and reflected upon just how easily my educational journey could have been stopped short had I not had the financial support for a tutor.
My YouTube channel, and this website is my attempt to create a more equitable educational for not only my students, but anyone who visits this site.
